Job Description
A healthcare facility on the California Central Coast is seeking three experienced travel pharmacists to support their inpatient hospital pharmacy teams. This opportunity offers a chance to work in dynamic, patient-focused environments in San Luis Obispo and Templeton, CA.
Location: San Luis Obispo, CA and Templeton, CA
Job Type: Travel assignment, 13 weeks minimum
Schedule:
- Day shift: Four 10-hour shifts per week
- Night shift: Seven days on, seven days off
Responsibilities:
- Perform order verification to ensure accurate medication dispensing
- Supervise pharmacy technicians in daily operations
- Consult with physicians and nurses regarding medication therapy and patient care
- Manage pharmacokinetics and dose adjustments for complex cases
- Utilize IT systems like Cerner and Omnicell for efficient workflow
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active California pharmacist license required
- Minimum of 1 year current inpatient pharmacy experience
- Proficient with both EPIC and Cerner electronic medical record systems
- Strong understanding of hospital pharmacy procedures and patient safety protocols
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams
