This full-time contract role is located in the dynamic New Orleans metro area, with a schedule of 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, following the district’s academic calendar.

As a valued educator, you’ll deliver engaging science instruction, foster curiosity, and create a positive classroom environment for a diverse student population. With the support of a dedicated district and a collaborative environment, your expertise will be integral to student growth throughout the academic year.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Active Louisiana Department of Education certification (full credential required; TAT not accepted)
  • Strong background in general science education at the high school level
  • Thorough understanding of curriculum and classroom management for secondary students
  • Commitment to timely completion of required district credentialing, including drug screening and fingerprinting
  • Previous classroom experience preferred, particularly in a high school setting
  • Passion for motivating and inspiring students from diverse backgrounds

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement creative lesson plans based on district standards
  • Inspire and engage high school students in science learning
  • Monitor student performance and adapt instruction as needed
  • Collaborate with colleagues, families, and administration for student achievement
  • Participate in school meetings, professional development, and parent conferences
  • Maintain accurate records as required by school policies
