Make an impact on the lives of students by stepping into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher in the Allentown region. Multiple positions are open for dynamic educators to support elementary, middle, and high school students across a variety of special education service areas for the 2026-2027 academic year.
Openings include:
- One Autistic Support teacher at the elementary level
- One Learning Support teacher at the middle school level
- Four Learning Support teachers at the high school level
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate at the time of start; emergency permits will be considered through HR sponsorship
- Experience or strong interest in special education settings, with the ability to create engaging, individualized learning environments
- Dedication to fostering growth and independence in students with a wide range of learning differences
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with students, families, and professional teams
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and adapt Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to meet student needs
- Utilize evidence-based instructional methods in the classroom
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as necessary
- Partner with school staff and families to support student achievement and well-being
- Participate in professional meetings, IEP conferences, and school community events
Details:
- 35 hours per week
- Contract dates: August 24, 2026 – June 10, 2027
- Schedule varies by assignment:
- Elementary: 8:15 AM – 3:45 PM
- Middle: 7:15 AM – 2:45 PM
- High: 7:13 AM – 2:43 PM
