Diagnostician Special Education Teacher - Mckinney, Texas

Step into a pivotal support role for students’ academic journeys by working as an Educational Diagnostician in a junior high setting. This contract opportunity runs from August 3rd, 2026, through May 27th, 2027, concentrating on meaningful, hands-on diagnostics and collaboration within a vibrant learning environment.

In this role, you'll serve the needs of 7th and 8th graders across a campus with approximately 175-180 students on your caseload. As part of your daily work, you’ll be responsible for conducting evaluations, administering tests, and participating in ARD meetings to ensure students receive services tailored to their unique learning needs. You'll benefit from close coordination with a dedicated ARD facilitator, allowing you to focus on high-quality assessments and recommendations.

Key Qualifications:

• Active Educational Diagnostician Endorsement required (confirmable through the Texas Educator Certification Online System)
• Previous experience as an Educational Diagnostician in schools strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of evaluation procedures, special education laws, and IEP processes
• Excellent organizational and communication skills for managing a large caseload across multiple grade levels
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and families to support positive student outcomes

Primary Responsibilities:

• Conduct student assessments for special education services
• Prepare and present findings at ARD meetings
• Collaborate in planning and implementing interventions
• Maintain detailed, compliant documentation
• Work closely with campus ARD facilitator and other team members
