RightStone
Midland, TX, US Full Time

Job Description

Job Description

Rightstone is looking for an Industrial Maintenance Technician specializing in Automation and Electronic systems in Midland, TX. The pay rate is $30.00/hr on W2 for a long-term 12-month contract with a consistent Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM schedule and strong potential for renewal.

In this role, you will join Baker Hughes, a global leader in energy technology, supporting critical oilfield manufacturing and piping production equipment at our Midland facility. You will be the electro-mechanical professional responsible for maximizing facility uptime through advanced troubleshooting, machinery repairs, and automation upgrades. This position demands a true multi-craft skill set—blending heavy mechanical and hydraulic repair abilities with high-level diagnostic expertise on PLCs, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and control electronics. This is an exceptional opportunity to secure a high-paying, stable career path with a global industrial pioneer.

What you will do:

  • Execute comprehensive maintenance, troubleshooting, and precision repairs on automated industrial manufacturing machinery and piping production systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex electrical, electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment failures rapidly during emergency downtime events.
  • Support the installation, structural integration, and performance upgrades of plant control electronics and automated systems.
  • Troubleshoot, configure, and maintain advanced automation components including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and CNC control systems.
  • Disassemble highly technical machinery, accurately diagnose component wear or system failure, and safely reassemble units to engineering standards.
  • Utilize advanced diagnostic devices to execute predictive maintenance routines, monitoring early signs of machine failure to minimize floor outages.
  • Compile detailed equipment fault reports to help build, adapt, and drive the facility’s preventative maintenance scheduling.

What we are looking for:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent level of education is required.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of dedicated experience in an industrial maintenance, field service, or electro-mechanical repair role.
  • Proven hands-on background troubleshooting within an electrical and electronic repair industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Direct technical familiarity with automated systems, including PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs, and VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives).
  • Strong multi-craft mechanical aptitude, with documented experience disassembling/reassembling heavy equipment and repairing complex hydraulic systems.
  • Proven ability to interpret complex technical schematics, translation logs, and error codes to make rapid floor decisions.
  • Absolute reliability to maintain a 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday schedule, with the flexibility to handle mandatory overtime and weekend shifts as production surges.

This is a temporary/contract position. While benefits (Health, 401k, PTO) are not provided during the contract period, they may become available upon successful conversion to a permanent role.
