Responsibilities

Draw blood samples from patients, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established procedures

Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing accurately and efficiently

Maintain detailed records and documentation of collections and processing activities

Communicate procedures clearly to patients to foster trust and confidence

Ensure a safe and professional environment consistent with organizational standards

Perform high-volume specimen collections and handle challenging draws when necessary

Support laboratory operations by handling specimen processing tasks and data entry

Required Skills

Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and difficult draws

Experience with high-volume specimen collection

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Strong attention to detail to ensure error-free work

Proficiency in keyboard and data entry tasks

Customer service skills to create a positive patient experience

Additional Skills & Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred

Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington

Minimum of 6 months phlebotomy experience; 1+ years in a reference lab setting preferred

Experience with reference labs such as Quest Diagnostics, LabCorp, CPL, or PathGroup highly desirable

Flexibility to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with availability for weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed

Experience with pediatric specimen collection and processing skills
