Job Description
Make an impact as a School Psychologist by working with children and youth, from birth through 21 years old, who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. This contract position covers a split between Santa Fe and Albuquerque, NM, and runs from August 3rd through June 4th, 2027. This on-site opportunity offers the chance to partner with dedicated educators and families, providing comprehensive psychological services in a supportive, specialized school environment. A full-time schedule at 7.5 hours per day ensures a consistent routine and work-life balance.
Key Qualifications:
- Current certification/licensure as a School Psychologist in the state of New Mexico or eligibility to obtain it
- Experience working with children/youth, ideally those who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Strong understanding of special education processes and multi-disciplinary team collaboration
- Excellent communication, assessment, and consultative skills
- Ability to work on-site and travel between Santa Fe and Albuquerque as needed
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychoeducational assessments, evaluations, and interventions for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and related service providers to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Provide counseling, consultation, and support strategies to enhance student success and well-being
- Participate in eligibility and re-evaluation meetings, sharing expertise on student needs
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with local and state guidelines
