Job Description
Embark on a contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher in Arizona, where you’ll support students’ diverse learning needs in a collaborative and welcoming environment. Multiple positions are available for the upcoming school year, with openings in both middle and elementary schools.
You’ll work on-site Mondays through Thursdays, from 7:30am to 4:00pm, totaling 36 hours per week—allowing you to enjoy Fridays off for enhanced work/life balance. Middle school roles (grades 6-8) include both resource and self-contained settings, while elementary positions (grades K-5) feature two self-contained teacher posts, including one short-term (2 months). District support and a team-oriented culture will help you thrive in your role. These positions offer hourly compensation between $35-41.
Required qualifications:
- Active Arizona teaching certification with IVP card
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher (resource or self-contained settings)
- Familiarity with IEP processes and classroom differentiation
- Skill in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and supporting families
- Strong communication and classroom management abilities
- Commitment to on-site instruction
Responsibilities will include:
- Delivering individualized instruction and modifying curriculum to meet student IEP goals
- Managing IEP documentation, progress monitoring, and data collection
- Collaborating with general education staff and related service providers
- Fostering an inclusive, positive classroom climate
- Communicating regularly with families and support staff
