Looking to make a difference in young lives while utilizing your expertise as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant? This contract opportunity offers hands-on involvement across four schools in the Leesburg and Claremont area, providing direct support to students from Kindergarten through fifth grade, with some Pre-K involvement. You’ll enjoy a dynamic, itinerant schedule and play a vital role in promoting independence and functional skills in a school-based setting.
The assignment runs from August 10, 2026, to May 28, 2027, with full-time hours (40 per week) and a convenient schedule of 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. District coordinators will finalize specific school locations and caseloads by 7/21. The district is actively interviewing candidates as of 7/21.
Desired Qualifications:
- Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant with a valid Florida license
- Experience in pediatric or school-based settings highly valued, but all backgrounds considered
- Ability to work effectively across different school sites as an itinerant COTA
- Familiarity with K-5 developmental needs; some Pre-K exposure is a plus
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Quick adaptability to diverse school environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy interventions as directed by supervising OTs
- Support student goals for independence and participation in the classroom
- Rotate among 4 schools, managing a caseload of 46 to 60 students
- Collaborate with educational staff and follow service plans
- Maintain clear and timely documentation
- Engage in the district's 2-part onboarding process for credentialing and badging
