Key Qualifications:

  • Active and valid Louisiana Department of Education certification (no Temporary Authority to Teach credentials accepted).
  • Ready to begin teaching immediately; not in the process of obtaining licensure.
  • Experience or strong interest in general education ELA, particularly at the high school level.
  • Commitment to thorough pre-employment screening, including district-specific drug screening and fingerprinting.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, standards-based ELA instruction to high school students.
  • Adapt lessons and teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and assessments.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, counselors, and administrators to contribute to a positive school culture.
