Overview

Our client is seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager (or experienced Senior Accountant ready to step into a leadership role) to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and support the monthly financial close process. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment while supervising an Accounting Assistant and partnering closely with leadership.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys owning the accounting process from journal entries through financial reporting while also helping improve processes and maintaining strong internal controls.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
  • Perform month-end and year-end close activities.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Manage accounts payable processes, including payment approvals and cash disbursements.
  • Record electronic payments, wire transactions, and other banking activity.
  • Review revenue transactions and ensure proper accounting treatment.
  • Monitor cash activity and assist with cash management.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports and support the soft close process.
  • Review and approve work prepared by the Accounting Assistant.
  • Assist with bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare audit schedules and provide support during annual audits.
  • Prepare annual information reporting, including 1099s.
  • Assist with tax-related reporting and compliance filings.
  • Review the general ledger for coding accuracy and correct discrepancies.
  • Maintain account schedules and supporting documentation.
  • Participate in board and leadership reporting as needed.
  • Partner with department leaders to answer accounting questions and provide financial support.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Accounting Manager experience preferred; strong Senior Accountants with leadership experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong experience with:
    • Month-end close
    • Journal entries
    • Balance sheet reconciliations
    • General ledger accounting
    • Financial reporting
    • Microsoft Excel
  • Previous experience supervising or mentoring staff is preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Additional Information
  • Background check and credit check required.
  • Opportunity for a hybrid schedule (1-2 remote days per week) after successful training and based on performance/business needs.
  • Interview process consists of a virtual interview with the accounting leadership team.
Pay Details: $70,000.00 to $85,000.00 per year
