Radiology Tech - MRI TechPosition Overview
\nThe MRI Tech operates magnetic resonance imaging equipment to acquire high-quality diagnostic images. The role involves patient screening for safety, positioning, protocol selection, and monitoring during scans within hospital or imaging center settings.
\nThe technician collaborates with radiologists and other clinicians to meet imaging needs while ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the procedure.
\nResponsibilities

- Screen patients for MRI safety and contraindications; verify orders \n
- Position patients, select coils and sequences, and perform MRI exams per protocol \n
- Monitor patients during scanning, responding to any adverse events or patient discomfort \n
- Ensure high-quality images with appropriate sequence selection and parameter adjustments \n
- Prepare and maintain MRI equipment and accessories, including safety protocols for implants \n
- Document imaging procedures and results in the EMR and coordinate with radiologists \n
- Assist with contrast administration as required by protocol and institutional guidelines \n
- Educate patients on the procedure and post-scan expectations \n
Qualifications
\nEducation:
\nAssociate degree in Radiologic Technology or related field; MRI specialty training or certification preferred.
\nLicensure:
\nState licensure or certification as a Radiologic Technologist with MRI specialization where required.
\nCertifications:
\n- \n
- ARRT Certification in Radiography (R) and MRI (MR) \n
- CPR/BLS \n
Experience or Skills:
\nExperience performing MRI procedures; proficiency with different MRI sequences and safety protocols; strong patient communication skills.

- Experience performing MRI scans in clinical or hospital settings \n
- Experience with coil selection, patient positioning, and image optimization \n
Preferred

- Experience with advanced MRI techniques and 3T systems \n

\nMRI suite environment with stringent safety guidelines and multidisciplinary collaboration.
\nTypically daytime hours with occasional on-call coverage; fast-paced but structured workflow and strict documentation requirements.
\nPatient preparation and comfort are essential, with a focus on precise imaging and safety.
