This full-time, in-person contract position is an excellent opportunity for a Special Education Teacher looking to make a meaningful difference in students’ lives near the Bristol, CT area.

As a valued member of a dedicated educational team, you’ll collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a supportive environment focused on promoting both academic achievement and social-emotional growth. This assignment runs until October, with the potential to extend.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification required
  • Experience working with students exhibiting social-emotional or behavioral challenges strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Solid classroom management and communication skills
  • Enthusiasm for fostering a positive, inclusive learning atmosphere
  • Commitment to in-person instruction for the duration of the contract

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide instruction and support in a structured environment for students in grades 3-5
  • Adapt curriculum to meet diverse learning and behavioral needs
  • Conduct regular progress monitoring and data collection
  • Collaborate closely with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff
  • Communicate regularly with families and guardians to promote student growth
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to behavior intervention strategies
