Step into an impactful role supporting students’ growth and learning as a Special Education Teacher on a full-time contract for the 2026-2027 school year. This position is conveniently located near Orland Park, IL, providing you the chance to work closely with a collaborative and supportive team committed to exceptional student outcomes. The opportunity runs from August 17, 2026, through May 28, 2027, with hours from 8:00 AM to 3:15 PM, Monday through Friday.

You’ll work in either an Autism support or transition program, serving a caseload of eight non-verbal students. Benefit from the assistance of 2-3 paraprofessionals in your classroom as you create and deliver individualized instruction and cultivate a positive, inclusive environment.

Qualifications:

  • Active LBS1 and Professional Educator License (PEL) required
  • Experience working with students with autism or in transition programs preferred
  • Knowledge of best practices in special education and differentiated instruction
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive classroom culture

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans tailored to student needs
  • Collaborate with support staff, administration, and related service providers
  • Utilize adaptive communication strategies for non-verbal learners
  • Monitor and document student progress regularly
  • Participate in IEP meetings and work closely with families
  • Guide paraeducators to ensure effective student support
  • Maintain organized records and a structured, engaging classroom environment
