Pediatric School-Based Speech Language Pathologist | Newport News, Virginia

A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) contract opportunity is available for dedicated professionals eager to make a difference in elementary education settings. Key Qualifications:

• Active SLP license with Clinical Certificate of Competence (CCC)
• Previous experience or strong interest in working within school settings, especially with pediatric populations
• Comfortable managing an elementary caseload of approximately 80 students
• Experience or willingness to supervise a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)
• Competence with teletherapy (VOCO) platforms a plus, though onsite availability is preferred at this stage
• Excellent documentation, communication, and collaboration skills with school staff and families

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct and indirect speech and language services to elementary-age students
• Evaluate, diagnose, and develop individualized treatment plans to address diverse student needs
• Monitor student progress and adjust interventions to achieve IEP goals
• Maintain accurate records and timely reporting in alignment with school and regulatory guidelines
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and supervision to SLPAs as needed
• Collaborate effectively with teachers, psychologists, support staff, and families to enhance students’ learning experiences
