Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
- Active state OT license (or eligibility for licensure)
- Previous experience in a school setting, providing therapy to children and adolescents, is highly valued
- Strong understanding of IEP development and participation in multidisciplinary team meetings
- Excellent time management, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to adapt to varying caseloads, fostering positive relationships with students, staff, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations to assess students’ needs
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and interventions based on assessment data and educational goals
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to create supportive classroom strategies
- Monitor student progress and adjust therapy objectives as needed
- Maintain detailed, compliant documentation on services provided and student performance
- Contribute insight and professional recommendations during IEP meetings
- Engage in ongoing professional development to keep current with school-based OT best practices
