Job Description
Make a positive impact on the lives of students as a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist for the upcoming school year! This contract opportunity offers flexibility—work full-time at 37.5 hours per week, or opt for part-time hours as needed. Starting August 25, 2026, through June 8, 2027, your expertise will support learners both onsite at a school building and, when needed, assist medically homebound students in the district. The school site assignment will be determined prior to your start, and although you’ll occasionally serve the homebound population, most of your time will involve working with students in the school setting.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Delaware SLP license required for consideration
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC)
- Recent experience in a school-based setting preferred
- Ability to adapt to varying caseloads; flexibility as student needs fluctuate
- Compassionate communication, organizational skills, and a collaborative mindset
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech and language therapy for K-12 students, both within the school and for those receiving homebound instruction
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, supporting IEP goals and objectives
- Collaborate closely with educators, support staff, and families to foster student success
- Evaluate, document, and track student progress, maintaining compliance with district and state guidelines
- Offer expertise and support for a diverse student caseload over the course of the academic year
