Job Description
Take your nursing expertise beyond the hospital setting by supporting students’ health and well-being across multiple school campuses. We are seeking a dedicated registered nurse or LPN for a full-time, onsite position as a floater nurse, covering several locations in proximity to one another. This contract opportunity runs from August 17, 2026, through June 18, 2027, with weekday hours from 8 AM to 4 PM.
Working with K-12 students, you’ll respond to daily health needs, implement care plans, and collaborate with educators and families, all while adapting quickly to different school environments. With reliable transportation and flexibility, you’ll ensure consistent, quality healthcare coverage across campuses—the furthest only six miles apart.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid Massachusetts RN or LPN license
- Previous school-based nursing experience required
- Comfortable commuting between multiple nearby campuses
- Experience working with students from kindergarten through twelfth grade
- Reliable transportation and ability to meet local travel demands
- Must complete fingerprinting and CORI background check processes
- Ability to work the full required schedule without accommodations
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ready for a flexible, fast-paced educational setting
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care for K-12 students per campus needs
- Administer daily medications and manage acute or chronic health conditions
- Respond promptly to health emergencies and care situations
- Maintain accurate health records and documentation
- Educate students and staff on health and wellness topics
- Collaborate with administration and family members to support student well-being
- Communicate effectively with school teams as you float between sites
