Contract Administrator/Buyer

Position requires experience in government contracting and government purchasing and bidding activities with various government agencies. Will be responsible for all aspects of purchasing within the dollar limits prescribed by law. MUST be able to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract & have U.S. Citizenship.

Job Duties:

• Knowledge of government bid processes, including readings and drawings
• Schedule and perform necessary purchasing procedures, bid requests, quotes for the acquisition of supplies and services.
• Identifies cost reduction opportunities.
• Develops and maintains Approved Supplier/Subcontractor Lists.
• Ensure appropriate FAR/DFAR clauses are included.
• Negotiates with suppliers/subcontractors.
• Files documentation in accordance with appropriate checklist
• Research existing needs in order to match current market availability.
• Recommend proposals regarding the awarding of bids.
• Provide necessary documentation to clerical staff, departments, divisions, officials, and vendors.
• Review of new marketplace products and services.

Job Requirements:

• Must be able to work and handle the pressure of dealing with deadlines.
• Knowledge and experience with (DOD) federal government procurement specifications and standards for Military Parts.
• Computer savvy in MS Office 365
• Knowledge of electronic procurement data processing systems.

Experience:

• Purchasing: 3 years (Preferred)
• Procurement: 3 years (Preferred)

Salary: starting at $50,000.00 + (based on experience)

Hours: 8:00am to 5:00pm
