Travel RN Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) / Critical Care Resource Team

Location: Concord, NC (Greater Charlotte Area)

Shift: 12-Hour Nights (1845 0715) | 36 Hours/Week

About the Facility & Unit

Join a premier, 457-bed Teaching Hospital and Level III Trauma Center recognized as a Stroke, Chest Pain, and Bariatric Center of Excellence.

This 14-bed specialized unit focuses on high-acuity cardiac and thoracic surgical patients, operating at a dedicated 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio. You will be fully supported by a 24/7 unit-based Intensivist, 24/7 Respiratory Therapy, an active IV/VAT team, and a supportive Charge Nurse.

Position Highlights
  • Competitive Night Shift Schedule: 3-12s with an every-other-weekend rotation.

  • No Call Requirements: Enjoy your time off without being on standby.

  • Travel Mid-Shift Protection: Floating is required within the regional network (Region 1). If you are floated mid-shift, you remain on the clock and are paid for your travel time between facilities.

  • Logistics Made Easy: Free parking on-site and standard Navy Blue scrubs.

Key Responsibilities & Clinical Skills

Candidates must be highly proficient in critical care management, including:

  • Advanced Equipment: Ventilators, CRRT, and vasoactive medication titration.

  • Lines & Drains: Arterial lines, PA catheters, transvenous pacemakers, chest tubes, and surgical drains.

  • Mechanical Circulatory Support: Experience with IABP and Impella is strongly preferred.

Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of dedicated Critical Care/ICU experience. (Highly qualified first-time travelers will be considered on a case-by-case basis).

  • Certifications: Active RN License, BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.

  • Technology: Experience with Epic EMR, Alaris pumps, and Omnicell dispensing is highly preferred.

Scheduling & Contract Notes
  • Orientation: Includes general hospital NEO followed by 2 days of dedicated departmental orientation.

  • Holiday Expectation: Travelers are expected to work 75% of major holidays.

  • Requested Time Off (RTO): Up to 6 days of RTO can be approved at the time of submission (excluding holidays). Note: Approved RTO may require extension days at the end of the contract to meet total guaranteed hours.
