Facility Setting: Outpatient Radiation Oncology Clinic / Cancer Treatment Center
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Radiation Therapist to join our oncology team. In this role, you will deliver high-quality radiation therapy treatments as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and exceptional care throughout the treatment process. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, patient-focused, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of radiation therapy practice. New graduates and candidates with 1 to 2 years of experience are welcome to apply.
ScheduleType: Full-Time
Standard Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Rotation: After approximately 6 months of training, therapists will rotate opening responsibilities, working 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM on a rotating basis.
Overtime: Minimal overtime required.
On-Call: Weekend call is voluntary, with a minimum guaranteed paid hours if called in.
Administer therapeutic radiation treatments according to physician prescriptions.
Review treatment prescriptions for mathematical and technical accuracy.
Verify patient diagnosis, medical records, and identification prior to treatment.
Prepare treatment rooms, immobilization devices, and radiation equipment.
Position patients accurately according to treatment plans and operate radiation therapy equipment to ensure precise dose delivery.
Monitor patients during treatment and report any unusual reactions or concerns to the physician or nursing staff.
Maintain accurate treatment documentation and patient records.
Follow established radiation safety protocols to protect patients, staff, and visitors.
Perform routine equipment warm-up and operational checks.
Collaborate effectively with physicians, dosimetrists, physicists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Education: Associate Degree in Radiation Therapy or completion of an accredited Radiation Therapy program.
Licensure & Certification: Current ARRT Certification in Radiation Therapy (T) and active State Licensure.
Preferred Experience: Experience with the Mosaiq Oncology Information System is preferred, though not required.
Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal, and patient care skills with excellent attention to detail.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stretch, and move throughout the workday.
Ability to push, pull, and safely assist with patient positioning and movement.
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
