Authorization Coordinator
Position Overview
The Authorizations Coordinator is responsible for supporting the timely and accurate processing of insurance authorizations to ensure continuity of services. This role focuses on managing authorization workflows, maintaining organized records, and collaborating with internal teams to prevent delays or interruptions.
Key Responsibilities
• Process and submit authorization and reauthorization requests in accordance with payer requirements
• Monitor authorization status and follow up as needed to ensure timely approvals
• Communicate updates, requirements, and follow-up actions to internal teams to support continuity of services
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date authorization records across internal systems
• Verify and enter authorization data from multiple sources, ensuring completeness and accuracy
• Track and organize authorization-related documentation and correspondence
• Assist in resolving discrepancies related to authorizations, billing, and payer requirements
• Support ongoing workflow processes, including reporting, tracking, and system updates
• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, billing, and administrative teams to ensure alignment and accuracy
• Monitor team communications and ensure timely responses and appropriate routing of information
• Assist with projects, reporting, and general departmental priorities as needed
Qualifications
Experience
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working with insurance authorizations, billing, or payer processes
• Experience interacting with insurance providers or similar entities
Skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Effective communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently while supporting team objectives
• Professionalism and commitment to confidentiality
Technical Skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Experience working within CRM systems or similar platforms preferred
Education
• High school diploma or equivalent required
Pay Details: $27.00 to $28.00 per hour
