A growing 503A compounding pharmacy in Tempe, AZ is seeking a dedicated Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) licensed in both California and Arizona. This role offers an excellent opportunity for newer pharmacists eager to expand their expertise in pharmacy operations and non-sterile compounding, with training provided. The position begins as a full-time, contract-to-hire role with a schedule of four days per week (Monday through Thursday), 9 AM to 5 PM, with the potential to increase to five days.

Location: Tempe, AZ
Schedule: Full Time, 32 hours/week (Mon-Thurs)
Shift: 9 AM – 5 PM (flexible scheduling options available)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily pharmacy operations, ensuring productivity, efficiency, and regulatory compliance
  • Supervise and mentor pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, offering training and performance feedback
  • Review and approve prescription orders for accuracy, clinical appropriateness, and compliance
  • Maintain adherence to Board of Pharmacy regulations, company policies, and documentation standards
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, and workload distribution to optimize pharmacy service levels
  • Collaborate with leadership to streamline operations and uphold high patient care standards
  • Participate in non-sterile compounding activities as needed, with full training provided

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active, clear pharmacist licenses in California and Arizona (CA license is critical)
  • Minimum of 2 years pharmacist experience; background in mail order, long term care, or 503A compounding preferred
  • Experience or willingness to learn non-sterile compounding strongly preferred
  • Pharmacy management or leadership experience is a plus but not required
  • Ability to commit to full-time hours
