Step into an exciting opportunity as an Adaptive Physical Education (APE) Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year in the vibrant Bay Area. Play a key role supporting students’ growth and engagement as you travel between sites to provide specialized physical education in a supportive, inclusive environment. You’ll make a real difference, working on-site exclusively throughout the school year and collaborating with both general and special education staff to deliver meaningful, accessible programming.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid California teaching credential required
  • Previous experience as an Adapted Physical Education Teacher preferred
  • Demonstrated capacity to adapt physical education curriculum to meet individual student needs
  • Ability to manage an itinerant schedule and serve multiple campuses
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with IEP processes, goal setting, and progress monitoring

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver adaptive PE instruction to students with varying abilities across multiple locations
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans for physical education aligned with student needs
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
  • Collaborate effectively with educators, therapists, and families to support holistic student development
  • Advocate for inclusive, engaging learning environments in all assigned schools
  • Maintain accurate records and compliance with state and federal special education guidelines

This contract position offers the opportunity to become a valued resource for students and staff throughout the academic year, working Monday through Friday in person, for a total of 35 hours per week. Compensation for this role will be between $63-$67 per hour.
