Job Description
Step into a rewarding position supporting elementary students as a Certified Special Education Teacher, focusing on students with Cognitive Impairments (CI) in grades K–2. This full-time, onsite role runs from late August 2026 through June 2027, providing an opportunity to make a real impact in an inclusive educational environment.
As an educator in this contract position, you’ll collaborate with school staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs), adapt lessons to meet diverse learning needs, and help students thrive both academically and socially. Your expertise will guide classroom management and foster a nurturing space for young children with special needs.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education License with CI (Cognitively Impaired) or ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) endorsement
- Current or attainable CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification, with a commitment to annual renewal
- Experience teaching or working with early elementary students preferred
- Ability to develop and modify IEPs, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and communicate clearly with families
- Strong classroom management and conflict resolution skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to K–2 students with cognitive impairments, tailored to individual goals and abilities
- Support social and emotional development, adapting activities as needed
