Responsibilities

Draw and collect blood specimens from patients across various age groups, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established procedures and safety protocols.

Prepare specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring proper labeling, handling, and documentation to maintain sample integrity and traceability.

Verify patient demographic information and obtain signatures where applicable to ensure accuracy and confidentiality.

Communicate clearly with patients, explaining procedures to foster trust and comfort during blood collection.

Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment, adhering to all policies and safety standards.

Accurately record data and maintain required documentation, contributing to quality assurance efforts.

Perform duties independently with minimal supervision, managing multiple priorities efficiently in a high-volume setting.

Required Skills

Strong phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric blood draws and capillary collections.

Exceptional customer service and communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.

Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Proficiency in keyboard and data entry to ensure precise documentation and record-keeping.

Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions based on established procedures.

Additional Skills & Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.

Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

1-3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

Experience working in a Patient Service Center environment is highly preferred.

Available to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime, to cover multiple locations as needed.

Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record if applicable.

Ability to travel and work at various locations with minimal notice, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to staffing needs.
