About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Accountant to join their growing team. This role is ideal for a payroll professional with a strong accounting background who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working with large data sets. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Oracle ERP and advanced Excel skills to support payroll reconciliations, reporting, and month-end activities. This role offers $43-$45 per hour based on experience.

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Accountant to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Oracle ERP and advanced Excel skills to support payroll reconciliations, reporting, and month-end activities. This role offers $43-$45 per hour based on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and review multi-state payroll accurately and timely.
- Reconcile payroll accounts, deductions, taxes, and benefit-related transactions.
- Prepare and maintain payroll journal entries and general ledger reconciliations.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
- Generate payroll reports and analyze payroll data using advanced Excel functions.
- Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, tax issues, and employee inquiries.
- Partner with HR, Finance, and Accounting teams to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain and update employee payroll records within Oracle.
- Assist with audits, tax filings, and compliance reporting.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.
- 4+ years of payroll and accounting experience.
- Strong experience working with Oracle ERP/Oracle Payroll.
- Advanced Excel skills including:
- Pivot Tables
- VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
- Complex formulas and data analysis
- Reporting and reconciliation functions
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
