The upcoming academic year brings an exciting contract opportunity—full-time hours, Monday through Friday, in a supportive school environment. You’ll help shape young minds, fostering literacy, critical thinking, and a love of literature for the 2026-2027 school year.

Ideal candidates will be passionate educators ready to inspire and adapt to the unique needs of adolescent learners. The role will serve high schoolers (exact caseload and school assignment TBD), allowing you to utilize your expertise in planning diverse, engaging lessons aligned with General Education curriculum standards.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Current, active Louisiana DOE Certification in General Education English (applications in progress or those with TAT not considered)
  • Demonstrated classroom experience with high school students in ELA
  • Ability to implement differentiated instruction and assessment methods
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Ready to complete all district credentialing, including fingerprinting and drug screening

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver dynamic ELA instruction, creating a welcoming and inclusive classroom
  • Design lesson plans that promote student engagement and academic growth
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback
  • Collaborate with fellow educators and support staff to promote student success
  • Participate in professional development and school initiatives as required
