Major Responsibilities

- \n
- Practices standard precautions and disease-specific precautions by proper utilization of handwashing and personal protective equipment. \n
- Explains procedures and treatments to patient to gain cooperation, understanding, and allay apprehension. \n
- Maintains awareness of dignity, comfort and safety needs of patient. \n
- Always provides excellent patient care. \n
- Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies provider of patient's condition as well as any changes to the patient’s condition, reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents. \n
- Responds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol. \n

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Qualifications
\n
- \n
- State medical license \n
- Minimum of 1 year experience in Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care, with at least one year of SOLO experience. \n
- Board eligibility or certification \n
- Experience in procedures including suturing and splinting, reading diagnostic studies including x-rays and EKGs \n
- BLS/ACLS and PALS certification. \n
- Outstanding bedside manner with children and adults \n
- Energetic attitude which inspires other team members \n
- Desire to contribute to building and maintaining a great organization \n
- Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure \n
- Effective written and verbal communication skills \n
- Competence with computer use and EMR. \n
- Proficient at intravenous access for blood draw and drug administration. \n

Working Conditions
\n
\n Center-Based. Requires working in a clinical setting. The noise level is moderate and there is a potential for exposure to infectious diseases and blood-borne pathogens. The ability to stand and sit for hours at a time, (with some bending and stooping), ability to use manual dexterity in relation to clinical requirements, and ability to lift 50 lbs.
