Special Education Teacher | Plano, Texas

You'll play a vital role in either a life skills, autism, or behavior support classroom, tailoring instruction and interventions to help every student succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Qualifications:

• Accredited bachelor’s degree required
• Valid Texas Special Education certificate (EC-12)
• Previous experience teaching or supporting children in a special education setting, preferably in a life skills, autism, or behavior classroom
• Strong collaboration and communication abilities
• Ability to adapt instruction and develop IEPs tailored to individual student goals
• Must complete TEA fingerprinting if not cleared through another Texas public school recently (please allow up to 7 business days for results)

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Deliver differentiated instruction using evidence-based strategies
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
• Work closely with school staff, support personnel, and families to support student growth
• Maintain accurate student records and progress documentation
• Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Support one assigned elementary school campus for the full academic year
