Job Description
Make a significant impact in students’ lives by supporting their individual learning journeys. A contract opportunity is available for two experienced Special Education Teachers for the 2026-2027 academic year. This role focuses on providing specialized instruction in two distinct classroom settings within a single building, ensuring consistency and a collaborative environment.
One classroom centers on serving students with multiple disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum, non-verbal learners, and students with physical impairments. The caseload features 9-12 students, fostering the opportunity to deliver tailored instruction and promote student growth. The other classroom serves 10-15 students with emotional disabilities, focusing on behavioral intervention plans (BIPs), social-emotional development, and crisis intervention strategies.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid state licensure in Special Education
- Background instructing students with multiple disabilities and/or emotional disabilities
- Experience creating and implementing IEPs and BIPs
- Familiarity with social-emotional instruction and crisis intervention preferred
- Collaborative mindset for working within a multidisciplinary educational team
- Strong communication skills and approachability
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver evidence-based instruction in accordance with students’ IEPs
- Implement effective classroom and behavior management techniques
- Adapt curriculum materials and teaching methods to suit individual needs
- Engage in data collection and progress monitoring to inform instructional decisions
- Liaise with families, support staff, and related service providers
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
