Responsibilities

Collect blood specimens from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established procedures with skill and safety.

Explain procedures to patients to create a comfortable and trustworthy environment.

Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing according to protocol.

Maintain accurate records and documentation of collections and related activities.

Ensure a safe, professional, and welcoming environment for patients and staff.

Demonstrate leadership behaviors while focusing on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information.

Perform daily duties efficiently under the supervision of the area supervisor, ensuring timely completion of tasks.

Required Skills

Proficient in performing phlebotomy procedures with a demonstrated ability to draw blood accurately and safely.

Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in record-keeping and specimen processing.

Experience with data entry and maintaining documentation related to laboratory specimens.

Additional Skills & Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.

Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).

Minimum of 6 months of direct phlebotomy experience required; over 1 year preferred.

Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime based on staffing needs.

Reliable transportation to and from the worksite; personal transportation necessary.

Must be available to work scheduled shifts, be punctual, and remain for the entire shift. Excessive absenteeism or tardiness may lead to termination.

Keyboard and data entry skills required to maintain accurate records.

Ability to handle fast-paced environments while maintaining quality and confidentiality of patient information.
