Position: Special Education Teacher – Kindergarten Autism Classroom
Location: Carteret, New Jersey
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday
Hours: 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM

Our staffing agency is partnering with a local school district in Carteret, NJ to hire a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a full-time Kindergarten Autism classroom assignment.

This position offers the opportunity to work in a highly supportive classroom serving 6 kindergarten students with the assistance of two full-time paraprofessionals. The ideal candidate is passionate about creating an engaging, structured learning environment that supports students' academic, behavioral, communication, and social-emotional development.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction in a self-contained Kindergarten Autism classroom.
• Develop and implement individualized instruction aligned with each student's IEP goals.
• Foster communication, social skills, academic growth, and independence.
• Collaborate with two classroom paraprofessionals to provide consistent student support.
• Collect data, monitor student progress, and maintain accurate documentation.
• Partner with related service providers, school staff, and families to support student success.
• Create a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Valid New Jersey Special Education certification (or eligibility to obtain prior to start).
• Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder is preferred.
• Strong classroom management, collaboration, and communication skills.
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs.
