Special Education Teacher - Lockport, Illinois

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid state Special Education teaching certification
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
• Previous experience working with students who have mild to moderate disabilities

• Ability to create and adapt Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Familiarity with differentiated instruction and behavioral management techniques

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, monitor, and update IEPs in accordance with state and federal guidelines
• Assess student progress and maintain accurate documentation
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to maximize student success
• Offer instructional support in both individual and small group settings
• Provide a positive, structured environment that encourages academic and social growth
• Utilize appropriate technology and materials to enhance the learning experience
