Job Description
Bring your expertise in occupational therapy to a dynamic school environment where your skills will support student success across multiple campuses. This onsite contract opportunity starts August 27, 2026, and continues through the end of November, offering 35 hours per week in a rewarding setting close to West Hartford, CT.
As the sole OT specialist for the district during this period, you’ll make a significant impact by collaborating with educators, administrators, and families to help students thrive academically and socially. Your role will involve working across several school sites, providing the chance to build relationships with a diverse range of students and school personnel.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Connecticut Occupational Therapist license (required)
- Previous experience as an OT in a school setting highly preferred
- Ability to travel between school sites within the district during the week
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Comfortable supporting students of varying ages and needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments to identify students’ needs and establish individualized intervention plans
- Deliver direct therapy services and consult with instructional staff on OT strategies
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation, complying with state and district guidelines
- Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, advocating for students’ needs and progress
- Engage with families and caregivers, providing updates and support to enhance student outcomes
