Job Description
Empower students and support their journey by making a meaningful impact as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in a dynamic, supportive school community. This contract opportunity covers the 2026–2027 academic year and focuses on working with K–8 students across an assigned cluster in a vibrant educational setting near Sanford, FL.
You’ll provide expert instruction and develop individualized learning strategies for students who are blind or visually impaired. Each day brings new environments and unique interactions, as you travel between two schools within a cluster, supporting a manageable caseload and nurturing growth for every student.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- Valid state Educator Certification
- National Certification in teaching the visually impaired
- Experience supporting K–8 students with visual impairments is highly valued
- Ability to complete required district-level background checks, fingerprinting, and necessary forms
- Flexibility to work itinerantly between schools within close proximity
In this Role, You Will:
- Deliver specialized instruction and adapt curricula for students with visual impairments in grades K–8
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans in collaboration with school staff and families
- Assess students’ needs and progress to tailor support effectively
- Serve as a resource to teaching teams and provide consultation on accessibility, technology, and instructional strategies
- Maintain clear communication and documentation in compliance with district standards
