Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist in Charge experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A growing 503A compounding pharmacy in Tempe, AZ is seeking a licensed Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) with active, clear licenses in both California and Arizona. This unique role offers an excellent opportunity for newer pharmacists to gain hands-on experience in pharmacy operations and non-sterile compounding while developing leadership skills in a supportive environment. Training will be provided to ensure success in both pharmacy management and compounding processes.
Location: Tempe, AZ
Schedule: Full Time, 32 Hours/Week (Monday – Thursday)
Shift: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (shift selection available)
Job Type: Contract to Hire
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations, maintaining workflow efficiency and compliance with all state and federal pharmacy regulations
- Supervise and mentor pharmacists and pharmacy technicians through guidance, training, and performance feedback
- Review, verify, and approve prescription orders for accuracy, clinical appropriateness, and regulatory adherence before dispensing
- Ensure adherence to Board of Pharmacy regulations, quality standards, and company policies with proper documentation
- Manage staffing, scheduling, and workload distribution to optimize pharmacy service levels
- Collaborate with leadership to implement process improvements and uphold high standards of patient care
- Participate in non-sterile compounding activities as needed, supported by offered training
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active, clear pharmacist licenses in California and Arizona (required)
- Minimum 2 years of pharmacist experience (mail order, long-term care, or 503A experience preferred)
- Experience or willingness to learn non-sterile compounding (training provided)
- Pharmacy management experience is a strong plus but not mandatory
- Commitment to full-time work and professional growth
