Job Description
A rewarding contract opportunity is available for a dedicated Certified Elementary Cognitively Impaired (CI) Teacher to serve students in grades K–2 for the 2026–2027 academic year. This full-time role is perfect for educators with a passion for making a difference in special education, offering the chance to provide direct support in a lively elementary setting. The assignment runs from late summer through the end of June, offering the stability of the full school year.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education License with active CI (Cognitively Impaired) or ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) endorsement
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification, or an openness to obtain and maintain this annually
- Previous experience working with early elementary-aged students in special education settings preferred
- Commitment to on-site instruction
- Strong communication, collaboration, and adaptability skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction to K–2 students identified with cognitive impairments
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
- Support the social, emotional, and academic growth of each student
- Maintain thorough documentation and progress reporting
- Participate in faculty meetings, IEP meetings, and ongoing professional development
- Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and families to promote a supportive learning environment
