Step into a dynamic educational environment as a Reading Specialist for the 2026-2027 academic year. This full-time, onsite position is focused on delivering targeted reading support within a welcoming elementary school setting. You’ll collaborate with educators and staff to help students achieve literacy success, while working within a supportive, resource-rich campus.

What we’re looking for:

  • Current reading specialist certification and active Pennsylvania teaching certification/licensure.
  • Solid experience as a school-based Reading Specialist, preferably in an urban school.
  • Mastery of instructional best practices and familiarity with state/district ELA standards.
  • Commitment to planning and implementing engaging, differentiated lessons that address student needs through formative assessment.
  • Strong classroom management and behavioral support skills.
  • Familiarity with relevant resources and intervention strategies for reading development.
  • Comfortable working onsite with the local community and school environment.
  • Reliable transportation to fulfill daily onsite requirements.
  • Ability to complete all required Pennsylvania clearances before starting.
  • Openness to a Zoom-based interview process.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver small group and individualized reading interventions to support diverse learners.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to identify students requiring additional reading support.
  • Collect and analyze student data to inform instructional decisions.
  • Develop and adjust lesson plans according to assessed needs and curriculum standards.
  • Support a positive, structured classroom climate conducive to learning.
  • Communicate regularly with families and team members regarding student progress.
  • Maintain accurate records and adhere to school, district, and state policies.

This contract role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on young readers from August 24, 2026, through June 10, 2027, committing to 37.5 hours per week during the school year.
