Job Description
Embark on an impactful, contract-based opportunity supporting students across multiple school sites in the Kansas City, MO area. This assignment is ideal for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) who values flexibility and variety in their workweek. You’ll be serving a diverse caseload while working with a collaborative team committed to student progress.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Missouri COTA license required
- Previous experience in a school setting preferred
- Strong organizational skills to manage a varied caseload and schedule
- Excellent communication abilities to work with students, staff, and administrators
- Adaptability and initiative, with ability to travel between school sites as needed
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work across several elementary, middle, and high school sites to provide direct therapy services
- Manage a caseload of approximately 32 students, delivering around 800 minutes of therapy per week
- Develop your own weekly schedule, with initial guidance at the start of the school year to ensure all student needs are met
- Document sessions and progress notes in accordance with school and state guidelines
- Collaborate with on-site educators and support staff to maximize student outcomes
- Contribute to IEP meetings and provide input for student plans as needed
This full-time role begins August 24th and extends through at least September 25th, with potential for extension. The workday is generally 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, totaling 7.5 hours daily.
