This role is instrumental in the successful completion of capital improvement projects across our multi-family portfolio. Ideal candidates bring prior project management experience and knowledge of construction or real estate environments.

- 2+ years of experience in a related position \n
- \n
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Real Estate, or a related field (or equivalent experience) \n
- \n
- Understanding of construction means, methods, and trade sequencing \n
- \n
- Experience working in active construction or renovation environments \n
- \n
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to document field conditions clearly \n
- \n
- Solid written and verbal communication skills \n
- \n
- Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with project management tools (ClickUp, Smartsheets, Procore, or similar) \n
- \n
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly \n
- \n
- Highly organized, self-directed, and accountable \n

- Experience with multifamily unit renovations or light commercial construction \n

- Exposure to owner-side or GC-side project management \n

What you’ll be doing:
\n As a Construction Project Manager, you will be responsible for the execution and oversight of capital improvement and unit renovation projects across a multifamily portfolio spanning multiple states. This role is owner-side and hands-on, with regular travel throughout our Midwest portfolio and direct coordination with general contractors, vendors, and property management teams.
\n
The Project Manager will help support unit renovation programs, owner-supplied materials, and project controls, while supporting GC partners to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to company standards.
\n\nCore Responsibilities Include:
\nProject Management & Execution:
\n- \n
- Manage day-to-day execution of unit renovation programs across assigned properties \n
- \n
- Oversee owner-supplied materials (tracking, delivery coordination, and installation sequencing) \n
- \n
- Support GC partners by coordinating scopes, schedules, and field logistics \n
- \n
- Ensure work aligns with approved scopes, specifications, and quality standards \n
\n
On-Site Inspections & Field Oversight:
\n- \n
- Conduct routine on-site inspections of active renovation and CAPEX projects \n
- \n
- Verify scope completion, identify deficiencies, and track punch list items to resolution \n
- \n
- Document field conditions through photos, notes, and inspection reports \n
\n
Vendor & Contractor Coordination:
\n- \n
- Coordinate with general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to maintain schedules and sequencing \n
- \n
- Track vendor performance against approved scopes, timelines, and budgets \n
- \n
- Support bid reviews, scope clarifications, and contractor communications \n
\n
Budget, Scope & Estimating Support:
\n- \n
- Assist with scope development, quantity takeoffs, and cost reviews \n
- \n
- Request bids from vendors and contractors, review and compare pricing, and create basic cost estimates \n
- \n
- Track project budgets, change orders, and approvals in coordination with the CAPEX team \n
\n
Reporting & Project Controls:
\n- \n
- Prepare project status updates, inspection summaries, and progress reports for internal stakeholders \n
- \n
- Maintain organized project documentation, photos, contracts, and approvals \n
- \n
- Utilize project management tools to track schedules, tasks, and milestones \n
\n
Portfolio & Team Support:
\n- \n
- Support the broader CAPEX team across multiple properties and states \n
- \n
- Coordinate with property management teams to align renovation schedules and unit readiness \n
- \n
- Assist with close-out documentation, warranties, and project turnover \n
\n\n
Location: Chicago corporate office (2 days a week).
\n\nTravel: Frequent travel (2-3 days a week) throughout our Midwest portfolio.
