Compensation: $75,000 - $120,000 (Based on Experience)
Overview
A growing engineering, surveying, and land development consulting firm is seeking a Florida Licensed Professional Surveyor & Mapper (PSM/PLS) to join its surveying team. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced surveying professional who enjoys working on a variety of commercial, residential, municipal, and land development projects throughout Florida.
The successful candidate will provide professional surveying expertise, oversee field and office operations, ensure survey accuracy, and support multidisciplinary engineering and land development projects.
Key ResponsibilitiesSurvey Operations
Perform and oversee boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, construction, and land development surveys.
Prepare, review, certify, and sign survey documents in accordance with Florida regulations.
Direct and coordinate field survey crews to ensure accurate data collection.
Review field notes, calculations, plats, legal descriptions, and survey deliverables for quality and accuracy.
Manage multiple surveying projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Coordinate with engineers, project managers, CAD technicians, contractors, and clients.
Maintain project schedules and ensure timely completion of survey deliverables.
Provide technical guidance and support to field and office staff.
Ensure all survey work complies with Florida surveying standards and applicable regulations.
Verify the accuracy of survey data and documentation.
Maintain high standards of quality control and professional practice.
Promote safe field operations and compliance with company safety policies.
Required Qualifications
Active Florida Professional Surveyor & Mapper (PSM) or Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license (Required).
Experience performing professional land surveying services.
Strong understanding of boundary, topographic, construction, and land development surveys.
Proficiency using modern electronic surveying equipment.
Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Valid Florida driver's license.
Ability to work overtime and weekends as project schedules require.
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting civil engineering and land development projects.
Experience supervising survey crews and coordinating field operations.
Familiarity with Florida land records, plats, legal descriptions, and subdivision mapping.
Experience working with municipalities and public agencies.
