Associate Attorney - Litigation
Job Description
Our client is an AV-rated civil litigation firm with a 40-year history in Sacramento, is seeking a newly licensed attorney to work directly under the direction of a senior partner defending public entities in civil litigation matters.
This position is designed for an attorney with 1-3 years of experience who is looking for hands-on training and guidance to develop into a skilled litigator. The supervising attorney handles all aspects of civil litigation, including pre-litigation investigation, pleadings, discovery, law and motion, trials, and appeals.
Responsibilities
Analyze cases and develop litigation strategies.
Research and handle unique and complex legal issues.
Draft and respond to written discovery.
Take and defend depositions.
Draft and argue significant law and motion matters, including dispositive motions.
Assist with mediations and arbitrations.
Participate in trial preparation.
Handle various aspects of civil litigation under the guidance of senior attorneys.
Qualifications
1-3 years of litigation experience.
California State Bar License required.
Doctorate degree required.
Strong interest in developing litigation skills through hands-on experience.
Ability to handle challenging legal work and actively participate in the litigation process.
