Senior Quality Assurance Engineer
Location: Bohemia, NY (100% onsite)
Compensation: $100K-$140K base (depending on experience)
Overview
A well-established, highly reputable manufacturer supporting aerospace, defense, and space programs is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join its team.
This individual will play a key role in driving product quality, resolving complex issues, and influencing overall quality strategy. The role offers strong visibility across engineering, manufacturing, and leadership, along with mentorship responsibilities.

Overview
A well-established, highly reputable manufacturer supporting aerospace, defense, and space programs is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join its team.
This individual will play a key role in driving product quality, resolving complex issues, and influencing overall quality strategy. The role offers strong visibility across engineering, manufacturing, and leadership, along with mentorship responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily QA engineering support across manufacturing, engineering, procurement, and product development
- Lead resolution of production and quality issues to ensure on-time delivery and product integrity
- Develop and maintain quality planning procedures and ensure compliance with internal and regulatory standards
- Drive root cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions, and verification of effectiveness
- Conduct internal audits of processes and quality systems
- Review drawings, quality plans (PAP/PPAP), engineering changes, and SOPs for compliance
- Partner cross-functionally with customers, suppliers, and internal teams on quality performance and requirements
- Support inspections (incoming, source, and customer audits) and qualification testing efforts
- Provide mentorship, training, and guidance to junior QA team members
- Contribute to proposals with technical input and cost estimates
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred
- 7+ years of Quality Assurance Engineering experience
- Strong knowledge of industry standards (AS9100, MIL-PRF, MIL-STD, IPC, etc.)
- Experience with root cause analysis, failure investigations, and corrective actions
- Ability to communicate technical information effectively across teams
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Six Sigma knowledge is a plus
- Work performed in a controlled cleanroom environment (ESD protocols required)
- Light travel (<10>
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs as needed
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and meet requirements for export-controlled environments
- High-impact role supporting mission-critical aerospace/defense programs
- Strong cross-functional visibility and influence
