Location: Doncaster / Mobile Role Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00 Working Week: 42.5 hours Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 + Door-to-door pay + benefits Fire Door Remedial Engineer – Doncaster Are you an experienced Fire Door Remedial Engineer, Fire Door Carpenter, Joiner, or Passive Fire Protection Engineer looking for a full-time, permanent role? We are recruiting for a skilled Fire Door Remedial Engineer to carry out inspections, repairs, maintenance and remedial works across a range of commercial, residential and public sector sites throughout the South East. This is a hands-on mobile role where you will be responsible for ensuring fire doors are safe, compliant and maintained to a high standard in line with current UK fire safety regulations and industry best practice. The Role As a Fire Door Remedial Engineer, you will carry out fire door inspections, identify remedial requirements and complete the necessary repair works to ensure compliance. You will work across multiple sites, liaising with clients, site managers and compliance teams while completing accurate reports and maintaining high standards of workmanship. Key Responsibilities Carry out fire door inspections and assess condition, compliance and remedial requirements. Complete fire door remedial works including adjustments, repairs and replacements. Adjust or replace hinges, closers, locks, seals and ironmongery. Repair or replace damaged door leaves, frames and glazing. Install and maintain intumescent strips and cold smoke seals. Ensure all works are completed in line with UK fire safety regulations, BS 8214:2016 and industry best practice. Complete daily service reports, compliance paperwork and job records. Identify non-compliance issues and recommend suitable corrective action. Liaise professionally with clients, site managers and internal teams. Follow site health and safety procedures and maintain safe working practices. Wear correct PPE and maintain a professional appearance on site. What We’re Looking For Experience working with fire doors, fire door remedials, joinery, carpentry, maintenance or passive fire protection. Good practical knowledge of fire door components, including closers, hinges, locks, seals and frames. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work to compliance standards. Ability to complete reports and paperwork accurately. Good communication skills and a professional approach with clients. Reliable, organised and able to manage work across multiple sites.
