Job Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading UK civil engineering contractor on a major long-term infrastructure scheme in the Cheshire area.This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a technically challenging project with a well-established commercial team, supporting the delivery of a nationally significant engineering programme.The RoleReporting to the Commercial Manager, you'll play a key role in the commercial management of a major civils package from procurement through to final account.Responsibilities will include:Managing subcontractor procurement and commercial administrationPreparing and agreeing valuations, applications for payment and final accountsManaging compensation events and change control under NEC contractsCost reporting, forecasting and cash flow managementIdentifying and mitigating commercial risks and opportunitiesBuilding strong relationships with the client, supply chain and project delivery teamsSupporting the commercial performance of the project throughout its lifecycleAbout YouWe're looking for someone who can demonstrate:Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or major infrastructureStrong working knowledge of NEC contractsExperience managing subcontractor accounts and commercial reportingExcellent negotiation and stakeholder management skillsThe ability to work independently within a busy project environmentExperience within sectors such as ground engineering, industrial construction, energy, heavy civils or major infrastructure would be highly advantageous.What's on OfferCompetitive day rateLong-term freelance assignmentMajor flagship infrastructure projectSupportive and experienced commercial teamImmediate start availableIf you're an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor looking for your next long-term freelance opportunity, I'd be happy to discuss the role in more detail.To apply or find out more, please get in touch for a confidential conversation.Aldwych Consulting values diversity and promotes equality.
