Senior HSE Advisor – Devonport DockyardDevonport, Plymouth, UK4 Month Contract – Immediate start available£45,000 – £55,000 (pro rata)We are looking for a proactive and experienced Senior HSE Advisor to join our client's operations at Devonport Dockyard, supporting critical shipbuilding and repair activities within a highly regulated environment.The RoleReporting to the HSE Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering HSE excellence across site operations. You will not only provide expert advice and guidance but also act as a key on-site presence, driving standards, influencing behaviours, and supporting operational delivery.You will also be trusted to deputise for the HSE Manager when required, making this an excellent opportunity for someone ready to step up.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide timely, expert advice on all HSE matters in line with legislation, company policies, and client requirementsSupport the delivery of the HSE strategy and contribute to continuous improvement initiativesAssist in the development of safety plans, risk assessments, and method statementsMaintain a strong, visible presence on site—challenging unsafe behaviours and promoting best practiceConduct audits, inspections, and incident investigations, identifying trends and improvement opportunitiesProduce accurate daily and weekly HSE reports for senior leadershipManage and maintain site-specific HSE documentation and systemsSupport Safe Start initiatives and hazard identification processesEngage with workforce representatives to ensure active participation and consultationBuild strong relationships with client HSE teams and internal departmentsDeliver toolbox talks, briefings, and training sessions where requiredPromote health, wellbeing, and behavioural safety initiativesContribute to wider operational delivery programmes across the business.Candidate ProfileYou are a hands-on, confident senior HSE professional who is not afraid to challenge the status quo and address issues in the moment.
