Production ForemanLocation: BarnsleySalary: £40,000 - £50,000 DOEHours: Monday to Thursday | 40 Hours Per Week | Days Flexible Between (07:00 - 19:00)The CompanyA well-established and growing heavy manufacturing business is looking to recruit an experienced Production Foreman to lead production operations at its Barnsley facility. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader with a background in metal manufacturing who enjoys driving performance, developing teams and maintaining high standards of safety and quality.The RoleAs Production Foreman, you will be responsible for supervising daily production activities, ensuring targets are achieved safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. You will lead and motivate production teams, coordinate workflow, support continuous improvement initiatives and work closely with maintenance and other departments to maximise plant performance.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and supervise day-to-day production operationsEnsure production schedules are achieved safely and efficientlyManage, coach and develop production operators and team leadersConduct daily toolbox talks and shift handoversMonitor production performance and drive KPI improvementsCoordinate with the maintenance team to minimise downtimeEnsure compliance with all health, safety and environmental proceduresMaintain high housekeeping and quality standards across the production areaInvestigate incidents, near misses and implement corrective actionsComplete production reports and maintain accurate operational recordsSupport continuous improvement projects to increase productivity and reduce wasteAbout YouThe successful candidate will have:Previous experience within a metal manufacturing, foundry, steel, casting or heavy engineering environmentAt least 3 years' experience in a supervisory or team leadership role within manufacturingStrong leadership and people management skillsA proactive approach to health, safety and environmental complianceExperience monitoring production KPIs and driving operational improvementsExcellent communication and problem-solving skillsGood organisational and planning abilityCompetent IT skills, including Microsoft ExcelThe ability to read technical drawings would be advantageousExperience with metalworking equipment such as presses, mills, saws, routers or welding machinery would be beneficial but is not essentialWhat's on OfferSalary of £40,000-£50,000 depending on experiencePermanent days position with an early Friday finishStable, well-established manufacturing businessOpportunity to lead an experienced production teamOngoing training and developmentA varied and rewarding leadership role with opportunities to make a real impactIf you're an experienced Production Supervisor or Foreman looking for your next challenge within heavy manufacturing, we'd like to hear from you.
