Are you an experienced QSHE professional looking to take ownership of health, safety, quality and environmental standards within a growing engineering business?

Our client is a well-established and rapidly expanding specialist engineering company operating across maintenance, installation, commissioning and project delivery services throughout the utilities sector. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a proactive QSHE Manager to lead and develop their Quality, Safety, Health & Environmental management systems across the business.

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

Health & Safety

\n
    \n
  • Lead and maintain the company's Health & Safety Management System.
  • \n
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant HSE legislation and industry standards.
  • \n
  • Develop, review and update Risk Assessments, Method Statements, COSHH Assessments and Safe Systems of Work.
  • \n
  • Conduct site inspections, audits and compliance reviews.
  • \n
  • Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, implementing corrective actions where required.
  • \n
  • Deliver toolbox talks, inductions and safety briefings.
  • \n
  • Support project teams with CDM compliance and contractor management.
  • \n

Quality & Compliance

\n
    \n
  • Maintain and continuously improve ISO management systems, including ISO 9001.
  • \n
  • Conduct internal audits and coordinate external certification audits.
  • \n
  • Manage CAPA processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • \n
  • Support tender submissions, supplier questionnaires and customer audits.
  • \n
  • Maintain document control systems and quality records.
  • \n

Environmental

\n
    \n
  • Promote environmentally responsible working practices across the business.
  • \n
  • Monitor waste management and environmental compliance.
  • \n
  • Support sustainability objectives and carbon reduction initiatives.
  • \n
  • Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and customer requirements.
  • \n

Training & Operational Support

    \n
  • Develop and manage training and competency matrices.
  • \n
  • Coordinate internal and external training programmes.
  • \n
  • Support engineering and project teams with QSHE guidance throughout project delivery.
  • \n
  • Maintain competency records including CSCS, ECS and other certifications.
  • \n

About You

\n

We're keen to speak with experienced QSHE professionals who can operate confidently across office, workshop and site environments.

\n

Essential Requirements

\n
    \n
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a QSHE, HSE or SHEQ management role.
  • \n
  • Experience managing ISO management systems and conducting audits.
  • \n
  • Strong experience producing RAMS and undertaking incident investigations.
  • \n
  • NEBOSH Level 6 Certificate/Diploma (or equivalent Level 6 qualification).
  • \n
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • \n
  • Confined Spaces Certified
  • \n

Highly Desirable

\n
    \n
  • Experience supporting maintenance contracts, commissioning activities and project delivery.
  • \n
  • Previous tender, PQQ and contractor approval experience.
  • \n
  • IOSH or IIRSM membership.
  • \n
