A leading Top 80 UK law firm is seeking a Court of Protection Solicitor (0-3 PQE) to join its highly regarded Property & Financial Affairs Court of Protection team in Swindon.

This award-winning department is recognised by Chambers & Partners and The Legal 500 and is one of the largest specialist Court of Protection teams in the UK. The team acts for hundreds of clients where a solicitor or trust corporation has been appointed as Deputy or Trustee, supporting vulnerable children and adults with the management of their financial affairs and long-term personal injury compensation.

This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified solicitor or a lawyer with up to three years' post-qualification experience to develop specialist expertise within a nationally recognised team.

Working closely with experienced partners, deputies and senior solicitors, the successful candidate will gain exposure to a broad range of Property & Financial Affairs Deputyship and Personal Injury Trust matters while gradually building their own caseload.

• Assisting with the management of Property & Financial Affairs Deputyship matters
\n
• Managing a supervised caseload of Court of Protection files
\n
• Preparing Court of Protection applications and annual Deputy Reports
\n
• Supporting the day-to-day management of clients' financial affairs, including budgeting, payments and property transactions
\n
• Assisting with the administration of Personal Injury Trusts
\n
• Liaising with clients, families, case managers, healthcare professionals and other professional contacts
\n
• Attending client meetings and visits where appropriate
\n
• Developing knowledge of statutory wills, care funding and welfare benefits
\n
• Contributing to client relationship and business development activities
\n

The department works collaboratively with case managers, healthcare professionals, financial advisers and litigation teams to ensure clients receive holistic support. The work is varied, meaningful and often involves helping individuals with significant injuries or complex needs navigate important financial decisions.

• Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales
\n
• 0-3 years' PQE
\n
• Genuine interest in Court of Protection and vulnerable client work
\n
• Excellent communication and client care skills
\n
• Strong organisational, drafting and analytical abilities
\n
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively within a team
\n
• Experience using a case management system and recording time is advantageous
\n
